Patrick Ahern, CPNP-PC is a pediatric nurse practitioner on the pediatric palliative care team at UVA Children’s. He coordinates the care of children with life-threatening/limiting illnesses, educating and assisting patients, families, and caregivers in making complex medical decisions and collaborating with colleagues across disciplines to support these medically fragile pediatric patients and their families.
Patrick was born and raised in Roanoke, VA, and received a BSN from the University of Virginia School of Nursing in 2011. While working as a nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, he received is MSN/Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree from UVA in 2015 and practiced pediatric primary care until joining the pediatric palliative care team in July 2019.
Patrick lives in Charlottesville with his two dogs. He enjoys CrossFit, music, skiing, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
