Drug Take-Back Program
Outdated or unwanted medication? We offer a safe option to dispose of old prescription drugs at this location. The take-back receptacles are green metal boxes with a drawer at the top. Once the box is full, we remove the medications from the box and have them destroyed safely. The drug take-back box is open 24/7 in the lobby of the Lee Street pharmacy.
You can request prescription refills and transfers online. Automatic refills are available. We accept most insurance plans. We also and participate in the UVA Drug Discount Program.
At this time, all UVA pharmacies are not accepting cash or checks. Credit and debit cards are the only accepted payment methods.
If you only have cash available, we'll discuss later billing and other payment options with you.
Meds to Beds is a free, convenient service for patients admitted to the hospital. You can enroll within our Transitions of Care and Meds to Beds program. Once admitted to the hospital, a representative will come to your bedside to talk about enrolling into these programs.
Enrolling means you’ll get medications delivered to your bedside before discharge. This way you won’t need to get medications from a retail pharmacy after hospital discharge. If you need medication counseling, you can talk with a pharmacist in person or over the phone before being discharged from the hospital.
This service is offered Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
