Support Services
At UVA, we provide support to your child and family both inside the hospital and in the surrounding community. We offer a variety of support services and programs to meet your individual needs.
Service of Remembrance
Help us remember children who have died. Each year we hold a service and reception for family members, local clergy, physicians and staff.
Blue Ridge Care Connection
Gain access to medical and community-based services that meet your child's individual needs through Blue Ridge Care Connection.
Hospital Education Program
Our partnership with Charlottesville City Schools and the Virginia Department of Education allows us to work with children in our outpatient clinics for extended periods of time. Consultants help link your child's diagnosis and treatment with your child's school activities and progress.

Child Life Program
Child life specialists are trained professionals who help children and families cope with their healthcare experiences. They can help your child understand his or her illness and treatment.
Age-appropriate intervention through play, education, self-expression, creativity and socialization can help your child take charge of their diagnosis and live a robust life.
