Bio & Overview

Brittany Wall, MD, is a pediatric pulmonologist who specializes in bronchoscopy and helping children with asthma, rare lung disease, and breathing complications related to other medical conditions.

Growing up in eastern Kentucky, Dr. Wall struggled with severe asthma. Though a multi-sport athlete, she had more doctor’s visits than her peers and often had to travel 3 hours to see the nearest pediatric pulmonologist. Understanding the impacts of not simply being able to breathe led to her deciding to pursue pediatric pulmonology.

Her early childhood experiences have helped shape Dr. Wall’s compassionate approach. She can relate to her patient’s struggles and have tough conversations still rooted in true understanding and empathy. Her experiences have also led to her becoming a fierce advocate, and cheerleader, for her patients.

Dr. Wall is a dedicated supporter of her beloved Auburn Tigers. She loves sports, especially college football and golf, and live music events. Her favorite artists are Taylor Swift and Foo Fighters. She and her husband, an oncologist at UVA Health, live with their two dogs, which are featured on her badge reel.

This visit was very discouraging. Dr. Wall seemed very annoyed with our (the patient's parents) questions. I am not sure if she was having a bad day or what but this is unacceptable in a pediatric specialty clinic. As parents, we should be heavily involved in the treatment plan for our child and have every right to ask questions. Her responses were very generalized and vague. They were not specific to our child and our child's situation. It was very clear that she had her own opinion on the questions that were being asked. As the parents, we felt very disregarded. She did not take the time to explain her rationales for her answers or go into depth when discussing our child's lab results or treatment. There was no discussion whatsoever of risk vs benefits of our child's treatment plan, it was just vague responses such as "every child is different." As the parents of this child, we left this visit feeling very defeated.
