Dr. Brenton attended medical school at Indiana University and completed his pediatric neurology residency at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Brenton specializes in pediatric demyelinating disease and autoimmune epilepsies. He pursued fellowship training in pediatric epilepsy/neurophysiology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital/The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, he pursued specialized training in the field of pediatric multiple sclerosis (MS) and related disorders at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in Philadelphia, PA. He is the director of UVA Health Children's pediatric and young adult MS and Related Disorders Clinic. Dr. Brenton also performs collaborative clinical research within the field of pediatric MS.
