Julia M Starks, MSN

Julia Starks, MSN, RN, CPNP-PC, is a pediatric nurse practitioner who provides same-day services for acute illnesses and injuries.

“Our children and their families deserve access to high-quality pediatric services when they are unable to see their pediatrician,” she says. “My goal for every patient I see is to care for them in the way that I would want my own child to be cared for. I love connecting with children and their families and providing them with excellent and evidence based care.”

Starks was born in Culpeper and raised on a small farm. She spent much of her childhood riding horses in the mountains, caring for the animals on the farm, and swimming in the pond on the family’s property.

With a passion for caring for children, she felt called from a young age to work in healthcare. Starks received her BSN from Eastern Mennonite University and spent 8 years as a bedside nurse, primarily on the acute care pediatric floor at UVA Health. She then earned her MSN in pediatric primary care from UVA.

She lives in the Charlottesville area with her husband, daughter, and cat. Outside of work, she enjoys singing, musical theater, swimming, hiking, travel, cooking, and food.
