Bio & Overview
After receiving a Bachelors of Arts degree from UVA in 1990, I became interested in women's health and went on to earn Bachelor's and Master's degrees in nursing. I was certified as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in 1998. I spent my early career working in a birthing center in South Texas, then moved on to a private OB-GYN practice in Williamsburg, VA. After a few years in Seattle, I was thrilled to be invited back to UVA for my job at the Teen Health Center in 2002. I bring expertise in the special health concerns of young women, including the treatment of menstrual cramps, migraine headaches and acne. I'm also specially trained to provide the most current and effective birth control methods and to perform colposcopy (a follow-up procedure for abnormal Pap smears). Outside of work, I enjoy being a mom, reading and traveling.
