Vishawdeep Singh Dhaliwal, DDS, specializes in general, pediatric and special needs dentistry, providing both routine and advanced dental care. His clinical interests include management of temporomandibular (TMJ) disorders, orofacial pain and oral medicine, including premalignant oral lesions, immune mediated oral mucocutaneous conditions and salivary gland disorders, like xerostomia.
Dhaliwal received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the Dasmesh Institute of Research and Dental Sciences in India and pursued a Master of Public Health at Nova Southeastern University. He then completed a general practice residency and an oral medicine residency at Carolinas Medical Center.
Throughout his years of training, Dhaliwal was actively involved in volunteering, providing free dental care and organizing blood donation camps in remote areas of India and acting as a research volunteer during his time in North Carolina. Currently, his local volunteer efforts include providing free dental care at the Charlottesville Free Clinic.
Dhaliwal’s recent research efforts have included studies of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) in patients with Sjogren’s syndrome and preradiation dental treatment in head and neck cancer patients, as well as a study of the oral side effects from conditioning therapy and stem cell transplantation.
