After Hours
Enter through the Emergency Department from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. The security officer or Patient and Guest Services supervisor will help you find the patient.
COVID-19 Updates:
Visitors are allowed to inpatient units and procedural areas within the hospital. Only 2 visitors are allowed in clinics, with some exceptions.
We're screening everyone who enters our facilities.
All patients admitted to stay in the hospital are tested for COVID-19.
Entrances limited to:
- 5 a.m. - 9 p.m. – Main lobby entrance
- 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. – Emergency Department entrance

Labor & Delivery
Having a Baby?
- Labor & Delivery and Postpartum rooms are located on the 8th Floor
- Lee Street parking garage is directly across the street from the Main Hospital and Emergency Department
- After 9 p.m., enter through the Emergency Department
- No preregistration is necessary; if you're under the care of a UVA OB-GYN or midwife, you just check in at the 8th floor registration room when you arrive

Critical Care for Babies (NICU)
Our NICU is nationally ranked by U.S News & World Report and the region's most advanced neonatal intensive care unit. With 51 beds on the 7th floor, we're able to care for premature and sick newborns, treat infections and breathing problems, and coordinate infant care with surgical or other complex needs.

University Hospital Chapel
The chapel is on the 1st floor, near the East Elevators. It’s open 24 hours a day for meditation, prayer, and quiet reflection.
Come to a Worship Service
- Prayer Service: Friday & Sunday, Noon-12:15 p.m.
- Interfaith Worship Service: Tuesday, Noon-12:30 p.m.
Held weekly and open to all, including patients, families, and team members. Patients may dress informally (bathrobes, etc.). Check with the charge nurse before leaving your unit.
Visiting Clergy and Pastoral Visitors
Chaplaincy visitors should go the Information Desk or Patient and Guest Services in the 1st floor lobby. Chaplaincy offices are on the 5th floor of 1222 Jefferson Park Ave.
