Bio & Overview
As a board-certified pediatric hospitalist, Eliza Holland, MD, cares for patients admitted to UVA Health Children’s Hospital. Alongside the residents she oversees, Dr. Holland provides quality care to children from birth through their adolescence.
With her patients, Dr. Holland approaches each as an individual with a unique story. She likes to learn about their favorite activities and interests as a way of getting a more complete picture of the child in front of her.
From a young age, Dr. Holland knew she was interested in medicine. Her grandfather, a general surgeon in Martinsville, was her earliest influence. But while working as a camp counselor, Dr. Holland got to know the medical staff. And she knew that one day she wanted to be introduced as a member of that staff. Dr. Holland became a camp doctor in 2009 and now volunteers at camp for at least one week every summer.
Dr. Holland’s children are grown, but her 2 dogs keep the house from feeling empty. In her free time, she likes to read, travel, and volunteer at the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry.
