If the first words put of a care provider after asking you for symptoms is, "I am not convinced" the rest of the appointment is a waste of time. No NP or Doctor should be on the defensive when a patient is telling them about symptoms. In addition more than one issue can be plaguing a patient. The indifference and impatient provider just means I am in the wrong place. Compassion goes a long way with someone who is ill.
