Same-Day Pediatric Care
Injuries and illnesses aren’t predictable. But when your child hurts themselves or isn’t feeling well, you want to help them feel better sooner. The same-day, if possible. That’s why we offer pediatric same-day appointments.
Same-day appointments aren’t urgent or emergency visits, they’re normal pediatrician visits that can be scheduled quickly to improve care.
How Same-Day Care Works
Unlike urgent care and emergency rooms, where walk-ins are accepted, same-day care requires an appointment. Appointment times reduce time spent in the waiting room.
Less time in a waiting room also means less exposure to illnesses.

When to Use Urgent or Emergency Care
Same-Day Care isn’t a great fit for problems like these:
- Complex fractures
- Head trauma

- Blood loss
If your child is experiencing these issues, please take them to an emergency room or call 911.

Same-Day Pediatric Care FAQs
Can we walk-in and wait?
While some of our same-day care sites except walk-ins, most do not. Instead, you schedule the appointment and then show up for your scheduled time.
How is same-day care billed?
Many insurance companies have different policies around urgent and emergency care visits. But same-days visits are billed the same way sick visits are.
My child really liked their same-day care provider, can we follow-up with them?
Most of our pediatric same-day care providers are part of the same team that work from that location. And many are taking new patients. You can call and schedule with them for non-same-day appointments as well.
I have a newborn, can we go to same-day care appointments?
At many of our same-day care sites, newborns can be seen. And we can help with newborn follow-up visits, newborn screening results, and many other newborn care concerns. But newborns do have additional care concerns. Our administrators will ask additional questions to get you to the right place.
We have an emergency, can we be seen sooner?
Emergencies need to be seen at our emergency medicine locations. These departments are better equipped to handle true emergencies like loss of consciousness, uncontrolled bleeding, or trauma related injuries.
