Bio & Overview
Alexandra De León, MD, is a general pediatrician seeing both English- and Spanish-speaking patients in our Northridge and Orange Pediatrics clinics. She also sees patients in our newborn nursery. Her other interests include medical education, global health, and community outreach.
Dr. De León was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She traveled north to Massachusetts to attend Amherst College, where she studied French. After college, she lived in New York City and worked in public health for a few years before coming to UVA for medical school. She also completed her residency and chief year of training at UVA. During her residency training, she was awarded the Brodie Resident Clinician Award for excellence in compassionate, patient-centered care. She joined the UVA faculty in the summer of 2020.
Outside of work, Dr. De León enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. She also likes staying active with running, hiking, and yoga.
