Bio & Overview

Anisha Gerber, MD, joined the UVA Pediatric Nephrology faculty in 2024 after completing a pediatrics residency and nephrology fellowship at the University of North Carolina. During her training she also received as Master of Science in Clinical Research.

Dr. Gerber returns to Charlottesville, having earned her medical degree at UVA, with goals to treat and support children and families with all forms of kidney conditions, participate in the education of future physicians and pediatricians, and continue her research activities.

Her research interests include:

  • Supporting the kidney health and understanding the diseases of children who live in areas with "chronic interstitial nephritis in agricultural communities" (CINAC)
  • Chronic kidney disease prevention and early intervention
  • Improving social determinants of health to eliminate healthcare disparities in pediatric chronic kidney disease

“My goal is to help patients live their lives to the fullest and to contribute to the advancement of public health strategies for CKD prevention,” she says, explaining her passion for supporting children and families experiencing kidney-related diseases.
