Standout Eye Expertise

Cataracts

Though rare in children, cataracts can ruin visual function. We’re able to remove cataracts early on and can also replace the eye lens if necessary, a recent innovation.

Glaucoma

Treating glaucoma in children can be quite difficult. At UVA, we have doctors specially trained in a laser procedure that can control this disease.

Brain Conditions

We evaluate and treat children to try to prevent vision loss from damage caused by tumors, inflammation or congenital problems.
